DEATHS

   Died at Dr. McBride’s, near Floral College on the morning of 14th of Oct., 
Jesse McBride, only child of Dr. T. O. and Christian L. Hawley, aged one year and 
two months.
 
TO THE PARENTS OF THE CHILD

Angels above are happy now,
For they sweet child is there;
With saintly hallo round its brow,
And glory in its heart.

It’s now in heaven, twas only born,
For better worlds than this;
Whose day is one eternal more,
And Life eternal bliss.

It’s only left thee for a time,
Left this dark world of woe;
To shine mid radient scenes sublime,
Where endless glories grow.

Redeemed from sin, reemed from woe,
By grace divine and love;
As sweet a bad ever seen below,
It blooming now above.

How happy now its kindred are,
To see and love they Child;
For none on earth is half so fair,        
As those in heaven smile.

Oh Parents, Parents, feel the link,
May it draw thee to its breast;
And lure thee up to heavens brink,
That you with it may rest.

May rest not in the cold cole ground,
Nor neath the moon light mild;
But in the light of Life profound,
With Jesus and thy child.
