James Lewis McCall, 39, formerly of Lumberton, who died Monday at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 504 West 2nd Street by Dr. E.B. Turner. Burial will be in the Elizabeth Heights Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Doris McCall; a son Michael McCall; a daughter, Miss Michelle McCall of San Antonio, Texas; his father, Lewis McCall, of Detroit, Michigan; his step-mother, Mrs. Cleo McCall of Detroit, Michigan; three brothers, Ledell and Charlie McCall of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary White of Lumberton and Miss Mary White of Lumberton and Miss Nettie McCall of New York City; six aunts and three uncles. M-Sgt. McCall served from 1955 to 1976 in the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Army Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, USAF NCO Academy Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Service to his country carried him to several foreign countries: Japan, England, Vietnam, two tours in Thailand, and the Philippines. The family will receive tonight from 8 to 9 o’clock at Central Funeral Home.
