The deceased had been prostrated by the hand of affliction for sometime previous to her death; but bore her afflictions with much Christian resignation. “Aunt Katie” as she was familiarly known, was a great favorite with young and old. She possessed a most charming and amiable disposition; always meeting her friends with a pleasant smile, which indicated good will and cordial welcome. Within the past few years she was time and again called to pass through the deep waters of affliction, as one and another of her married daughters were called to pass through the valley and “shadow of death.” But with Job of old – she could say – “The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Three of her children still survive her, to whom she has left the rich legacy of a noble Christian character, and who are confronted with the blessed hope that she is now with the loved ones who preceded her in the home of glory where partings are o’er, and where pleasures are forevermore. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/robeson/obits/m/mcrae2590ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ncfiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
