J. P. Meares Funeral Services Help For Mrs. J.P. Meares Funeral service were conducted from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Haynes Collins Thursday afternoon for Mrs. J. P. Meares, who died Wednesday at 5:45 p. m. at the age of 70 years after an illness of 2 years with high blood pressure and heart trouble. Dr. C. H. Durham. pastor of the First Baptist church, was in charge if the services, giving a short account of her life and work. Interment was made in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Meares, who before marriage was miss Maggie Stogner of Moore county, was married age of 20 to Mr. James Meares, who lived in the Antioch church section of the county. To this union were born 10 children, 7 of whom survive as follows: Mrs. Hayes Collins, with whom she made her home; Messers, Walter, C. B., P. A. Meares, and Mrs. Lottie Byrd. Lumberton; Mrs. Claudie Parham. Wallace; Mr. Willie Meares, Bellamy.
