DELANEY MEARES WISHART Aged and Highly Esteemed Woman Dies At Home Near Town.. Funeral Yesterday Afternoon. Reported for the Robesonian. The entire community was saddened Saturday night when it was learned that Mrs. Delaney Meares Wishart had passed away at 7 o'clock at her home two miles from town after an illness of twelve hours, her death being caused by an acute attack of indigestion. Mrs. Wishart spent Friday in town at the home of her son, Mr. J. H. Wishart, returning to her home in the afternoon. Mrs. Wishart was born in Wishart Township November 28th, 1837 and entered her 87th year two months ago today. She was the widow of the late Wellington Wishart, who passed away in 1897. She spent her entire life in the community in which she was born and reared and was loved and respected by the entire population. In early life she became a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she held membership for many years, when she transferred to the First Church of Lumberton. Mrs. Wishart is survived by four sons, W. S., J. H., Wade adn Frank H., and two daughters, Mesdames M. R. Powers and F. J. Flowers; also a large number of grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted from the residence of Mr. J. H. Wishart yesterday afternoon at 3:30 by Dr. C. H. Durham, pastor of the First Baptist Church, assisted by Dr. G. E. Moorehouse, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The large gathering of friends and the many floral offerings showed the very high esteem in which the aged lady was held. The pallbearers were: H. F. Flowers, J. A. Barker, C. A. Crump, J. C. Married: Wellington Wishart : 16 Sep 1858, at Wisharts Township, Robeson, North Carolina.
