Aunt Mary Jane Mercer.
 
   On Saturday November 14th the
gentle spirit of good old Aunt Mary
Jane Mercer of the Bellamy section
went home to heaven.  She was about
87 years of age.  Interment was made
in the family cemetery the day fol-
lowing her death, the funeral ser-
vices being conducted by Rev. W. D.
Pridgen in the home of her son, Mr.
Rowland Mercer, with whom she liv-
ed.
   Two sons, Mr. Agrippa and Mr.
Rowland; four daughters Mrs. Ora
Vendrick, Mrs. Leah Allen, Mrs. Liz-
zie Meares and Mrs. Lillie McNeal;
and three sisters – Mrs. Rowland
Mercer, Sr., Mrs. Strad Hammond
and Miss Molsy Ann West, survive
besides many other relatives.  She
was a good woman, loved and ad-
mired by all who knew her.
