REV. M.V. MERCER

AGED BAPTIST MINISTER DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER IN HOWELLSVILLE TOWNSHIP –
FUNERAL YESTERDAY

The funeral of Rev. M. V. Mercer, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
John T. Herring, in Howellsville Township, Tuesday afternoon, was conducted from
Regan church yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock. 

The service was conducted by Rev. I.T. Poole, pastor of the Methodist church of
St. Paul, assisted by Revs. R.L. Byrd of Tolarsville and T. McM. Grant and N.L.
Seabolt of Lumberton.   Interment took place at the church cemetery.  

Deceased was a Baptist minister and was near 86 years of age. 

A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends were present to pay their
last respects to a long and useful life. The grave was covered with beautiful
flowers.
