W. M’White ---------------------- Large Crowd Attended Funeral At Barkers Methodist Church Mr. James Wellington M’White died about 4 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11th, in his 75th year, having been born Feb. 21, 1856. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben M’White of blessed memory. Mr. M’White was married to Miss Amantha Barker, sister of Mr. J.W. Barker of Lumberton. January 7, 1878, who died January 16, 1901. To this union were born 3 sons and 3 daughters, who survive, viz: French M. of Jessup, Ga., Reuben and H. Shelton of Lumberton, Mrs. W.W. Douglas (Leona), Mrs. H.A. M’White (Lottie), of Savannah, Ga. and Mrs. J.S. Hall (Mattie) Aulanda, Fla. August 19, 1904, Mr. M’White was married to Miss Fannie Andrews, who survives but who was too ill to attend the funeral, which was conducted at Barkers Methodist church, where he has held his membership from boyhood, by his pastor, Rev. J. B. Thompson, at 3 p.m. Sunday, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The flowers were many and very beautiful and the music excellent. The remains were laid to rest by the side of his deceased wife in the cemetery at Barkers church. Mr. Thompson paid high and deserved tribute to life of the deceased, every word of which could be attested by all who knew him.
