A. Norton, died at the home of her son, W. F. Norton, on route one Friday at 11:30 p. m. after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted from Raft Swamp Baptist church at 4 p. m. Sunday, with Dr. J. Glenn Blackburn, pastor of the First Baptist church in Lumberton, and Rev. S. S. Todd of Bladenboro in charge. Interment was made in the Raft Swamp cemetery beneath a mound of lovely floral designs. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Rowland Nunnery of Fayetteville, Mrs. J. H. McQueen of Roseboro, Mrs. J. C. Lee of Fairmont and Mrs. J. C. Easterling and Mrs. G. D. Hewett of Lumberton; two sons, J. C. of Wilmington and W. F. Norton of Lumberton; 32 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. M. H. Russell of Laurinburg. Pallbearers were grandsons, Theodore and Frank Hursey, J. C. Norton, Earl Thompson, Stacy Bullock and Clarence West. Flowerbearers were granddaughters, Miss Dorothy Hewett, Gladys Williamson, Tressie Hursey, Thelma Thompson, Ethel Bullock, Jessie Hursey, Marie Russell, Violet and Beulah Nunnery.
