THE FINAL SUMMONS.

Mr. Ferdinand Odum of Raft Swamp Township.
   Mr. Ferdinand Odum died Tuesday at his home in Raft Swamp township of Bright’s 
disease.  He was about 76 years old and was a Confederate veteran.  Several 
children, all married and living in the county, survive.  Deceased was a good 
neighbor, a consistent Christian, highly esteemed by all who knew him.  The 
funeral was conducted yesterday from the home by Rev. R. N. Cashwell of Lumberton 
and the remains were interred in the family burying ground in the presence of a 
large gathering of friends.
