The Robesonian, July 20, 1908
Mrs. Owen Odum, who lived near Lowe, Raft Town Swamp township, died at the 
Thompson Hospital, to which she was taken last Tuesday, at five o’clock 
yesterday afternoon of uremic poison. She had been in poor health for about 
two months.
 
Mrs. Odum was a Miss Collier, of Buie’s Creek, Harnett county, and had been 
married less than a year. She was a most excellent Christian woman who was 
held in high esteem by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Her 
husband, a brother and sister from Buie’s Creek and several friends from the 
home of her husband in Raft Swamp were with her at the time of her death.
The remains were taken this morning to her old home at Buie’s Creek, where 
they will be interred.
