In Memoriam

When the summons comes that we must depart this life, we must go, whether 
young, middle-aged or old. The Death Angel called Mrs. Nancy [HARRELL] ODUM, 
wife of Mr. H. {Harold} ODUM, of Lowe, N.C. to her home beyond the skies on 
Friday night, August 28, 1903.
Mrs. ODUM was born Feb. 7th 1859. For a number of years she has been a devoted 
member and faithful worker of the Raft Swamp Missionary Baptist Church. She 
was a faithful Christian; ever living the life that Jesus is pleased to honor. 
None knew her save to love her, because of the beautiful life she lived while 
she sojourned here below........
 She leaves a husband, the children and a host of friends and relatives to 
mourn their loss. To all the bereaved we extend heartfelt sympathies in this 
sad hour. May the comforting and sustaining power of the Holy Spirit keep 
them. Mrs. ODUM is missed in the home community and church, but what is our 
loss is her eternal gain. “He doeth all things well.” Let us be humble and 
submissive to God’s will.


Additional Comments:
Nancy's son, Jerry Daniel ODUM died of Typhoid Fever just one week prior to 
his mother.
