The Robesonian Newspaper
Funeral rites for Mrs. Rowan Owens, who died Monday at her home on the Jas 
Livingston farm near Parkton, after illness. Took place Tuesday afternoon from 
St Pauls Preshyterian church with the pastor Rev. M.P. Calhoun oficiating and 
interment followed in the family plot in Oak Ridge Cemetery, on the western 
edge of town. Deceased is survived by her husband and other relatives. 
She was a sister of Roy Walters, who was buried there recently.

Additional Comments:
Rosa Alice Walters was born Dec 1876 in Robeson County, NC. She was the 
daughter of Joseph Allen Walters and Henrietta Johnson.
She married first to Charles Butler on Jan 22, 1890, he was born in Columbus 
County, NC.
She married Rowan Bruce Owens June 1903.
