Mrs. S. Patterson Claimed By Death 

Mrs. Effie Musselwhite Patterson, 60, wife of the late Sandy Patterson of the
Barker-Ten Mile section, Lumberton, R.1, died this morning at Highsmith hospital
in Fayetteville, where she had been a patient since Sunday. She had been ill
only one week. 

Mrs. Patterson was born in Robeson County on July 12, 1885, daughter of the late
Duncan and Mary Musselwhite. She was a life-long resident of the Barker-Ten Mile
community.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 5 p. m. from Barker’s Methodist church,
of which she was a member, by her pastor, Rev. O.L. Hathaway, assisted by Rev.
S.A. Rhyne. Interment will be in the church cemetery beside the grave of her
husband, who died three years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Earl Hendrix of the home; one grandson, David
Gene Hendrix; one sister, Miss Della Musselwhite of Lumberton; and 3 brothers,
R.T., Ira and Wade Musselwhite of Lumberton.
