Thursday Jan 24, 1929 Mrs. A.H. PERRY Passes Parkton, Jan 22--Mrs. A.H. PERRY of our town died Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock at her home. She was 65 years old. Deceased had been in declining health for about 4 years but was not confined to her room all that time. For the past few months, she was mostly confined and her death was not unexpected. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 2 PM at the Baptist church by her pastor, Rev J.H. POWERS and was attended by a very large assemblage of friends and relatives. Interment was in the Parkton Cemetery.... Deceased had been a consistent member of the Baptist church for more than 40 years, was much beloved and highly esteemed by all and will be sorely missed in her home and church. She is survived by her husband, and 3 children, Mrs. D.L. GODWIN and Leon PERRY of Parkton and Norman PERRY of Erwin.... Out of town people who attended were Mr. and Mrs. J.H. BUTLER of Aberdeen, Mr. BUTLER being a brother of deceased; Charles BUTLER of Dunn, Luther BUTLER of Aberdeen, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. HOWARD, Mr. and Mrs. John UNDERWOOD, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph ALLEN, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. RATLEY and Mr. and Mrs. Lacy CARROLL, all of St. Pauls and Mr. and Mrs. Henry HALL of Hope Mills. Additional Comments: Penny was the daughter of Miles BUTLER and Esther BAXLEY.
