Death of a Former Robesonian in Texas

   Mr. Ranson Pitman, a former Robesonian who moved to Texas about 37 years 
ago, died at his home in Houston, Texas on the 4th of April, but on account of 
the scattered condition of his family the news of his death did not reach 
relatives here until last week.
   Mr. Pitman was about 73 years old and was a son of the late Uriah Pitman, 
of Wishart's township, and a brother of Mrs. F.A. Howell, of Whiteville, and 
Mrs. J. P. Smith, of Maxton.

Ranson Pitman married Joanna Daffern May 1, 1867 in Robeson County, NC.
