Lumberton Funeral Services from East Lumberton Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. Today. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Clewis, 58 wife of Woodberry Clewis of East Lumberton will be conducted at East Lumberton Baptist Church of which she was a consecrated member, today, at 3:30 p.m. , by Rev. E. A. Paul, pastor. Interment will be in the Clewis Cemetery, 4 miles east of Lumberton. Mrs Clewis died at her home near East Lumberton at 10:00 p.m. Sunday after an illness of a month with Bright's Disease and heart trouble. She had been confined to bed only a part of that time. Surviving are her husband; 5 children, Meddames C. L. Collins, and W. A. Norton of Raeford, Mrs. G. B. Wright, Messers, Raymond and Dudley Clewis of East Lumberton; 3 brothers, Mr. Jim Pittman of Wisharts Township, Mr. Alfred Pittman of East Lumberton, Mr. Jackson Pittman of Maxton; a sister Mrs. David Taylor of Rockingham. Last rites for Mrs. Mary L. Clewis, 58, who died at her home in East Lumberton Sunday night after illness of 3 weeks, were conducted at East Lumberton Baptist Church Monday at 3 p.m. by Revs. E. A. Paul and Wilbur Edwards. Both paid a loving tribute to her life. Mr. Paul was her pastor for a number of years. Interment was made in the Clewis Cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The flower girls were the members of her class. Deceased is survived by her husband, Mr. W. W. Clewis, and 5 childen, Mrs. C. L. Collins of Shannon, Mrs. W. A. Norton, Mrs. G. B. Wright, Raymond and Dudley , all of East Lumberton. Her brothers are Jackson Lee Pittman of Maxton, J. B. and Neal Pittman of Wisharts Township0, Alfred Pittman, E. Lumberton; 3 half brothers, Jesse Pittman, Claud and John, all of E. Lumberton; and half sister, Mrs. Wilkes Williamson of E. Lumberton; a sister, Mrs. David Taylor of Rockingham. She was one of the most beloved women of this entire section, prominently connected in all church work, a devoted mother, excellent neighbor, and a friend to everyone.
