Monday, Sept 6 1971 p. 2 Mrs. Lula PLYLER Mrs. Lula PLYLER, 78, died Sunday. Funeral will be at 3 P.M. Tuesday in East Lumberton Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. John HAAS and D.J. LONG. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. Surviving: her husband, Boyd PLYLER of the home; a son Marvin BAXLEY PLYLER of Durham; two daughters; Mrs. Eva BRITT of Lumberton and Mrs. Frances DAY of Aiken, S.C.; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Annie HENSON of Laurinburg, Mrs Viola DEAN of Red Springs, Mrs. Mertie BARNES and Mrs. Emma WILLIAMSON of Lumberton; a brother, Murdick TAYLOR of Laurinburg. Additional Comments: [Note: Lula was the daughter of John Pinkney TAYLOR and Basheba (sic) SPEIGHT. Her death certificate calls her father Pete TAYLOR. She was the 2nd wife of Luther BAXLEY who died in 1939.
