DIED,

   In Washington County, Geo., on the 10th inst., Col. OWEN C. POPE, aged 50 
years, a native of Robeson county, N. C., and formely of this town.  He 
departed without a groan, a sigh, or a struggle---as gently and as peacefully 
as when an infant falls to sleep upon its mother's bosom.  He had been for 
many years a consistent member of the Baptist Church.---COM
