Robesonian – 09/18/1900
   Mrs. H. P. Powers died at her home in Howellsville township Saturday afternoon of

blood poison.  The funeral services took place at Barkers church Sunday afternoon 
and were conducted by Rev. J. P. Pate.  Mrs. Powers was a daughter of Matthew 
Humphrey of Saddle Tree.  She leaves a husband and eight children to mourn their 
loss.
