PAULS – Funeral services for J. Frank Powers, 86, who died Saturday night after several months’ illness, were held Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock from St. Pauls Methodist Church, of which he was a member. The pastor, the Rev. Ben F. Boone, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. Earl Robinson of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Survivors include three sons, Ralph F., Ruffin B. and Cary Powers, all of St. Pauls. He was a son of the late Luke B. Powers and Lovdy [sp] Lovedy Flowers Powers of Robeson County. Active pallbearers were Bill Hancock, Hal Harrington, Joe Butler, John B. Regan, E.Z. Musselwhite, and Bob Sessoms. Honorary pallbearers were J.H. Ratley, W.E. McMillan, C.C. Harrington, Duncan McEachern, Neill Alford, Belton McColl, John S. Butler, and N.G. McCormick.
