September 21, 1944 Pritchard Powers Claimed By Death Pritchard Powers, 56, died today at 1 p.m. at his home in the B.T. section, following an illness of 3 months. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m. from Ten Mile Baptist Church of which he was a deacon, with his pastor, Rev. S.A. Rhyne, in charge. The body will lie in state in the church for half an hour before the funeral. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beulah Howell Powers and 5 children, Cpl. Wilbur Powers of New River, Cpl. Carl Powers who is overseas in the Armed Forces, Mrs. Rudolph Cox of Wilmington, Justin and Billy of the home; one grand-daughter, Linda Powers; 2 brothers, Rev. J. L. Powers of Durham and J. B. Powers of Lumberton, R. 1; 2 sisters, Mrs. C. J. Ammonds of Lumber Bridge and Mrs. John B. Humphrey of Baltimore, Md. He is the son of Mrs. Ellen Townsend Powers and the late Stephen A Powers of the B. T. Section.
