The Robesonian,  January 25, 1909
Mr. John H. Powers, Jr., about 18 years old, died last night at 8:45 o'clock 
at the home of his father, Mr. J.H. Powers, at Powersville, of tuberculosis. 
The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the 
pastor of the deceased, Rev. W.A. Jenkins. The remains will be interred at the 
family burying ground. 

The deceased was a nephew of Mrs. W. H. Humphrey, and other relatives live in 
Lumberton. Mr. C.M. Barker is among the relatives of the family attending the 
funeral from Lumberton.
