Mrs. Clara L. ODAM (sic)
Red Springs—Mrs. Clara L. Odam (sic) wife of J.H. Odam(sic)of Wagram, died at 
her home Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held from the Red Springs 
Baptist church yesterday afternoon at three o’clock, conducted by the Rev. J. 
Willis Bennett, pastor, and the Rev. Carroll Andrews of Spring Hill Baptist 
Church. Interment followed in Alloway Cemetery.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Keller of 
Bolivia, and Mrs. Belton Blackmon of Brunswick; five sons, J.L. of Raeford, 
H.P. of Hamlet, David of Great Neck, N.Y. Willis F. of Fayetteville, and 
Rowland of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Charnie Lovette of Red Springs, and 
Mrs. Lula LEE of Shannon, a brother, Malcolm Prevatte of Florida, 23 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

[Note: According to her death certificate, Clara Leola ODOM was the daughter 
of “Dock” Prevatte and Winnie PREVATTE, who are, in actuality, Alfred Eli 
PREVATTE and Winnie BAXLEY.]
