Last Rites held for Mrs. J.T. Prevatte

Fairmont, Rt 2, ---Mrs. Emily Prevatte, 53 died at a local hospital Tuesday, 
Jan 10, at 12:15 pm following a few days illness of pneumonia and paralysis.  
Mrs. Prevatte was the daughter of L.T. Collins and the late Mrs. Collins.

Funeral services were held from the home of her sister and brother in law, 
Mrs. and Mr. R.L. Johnson, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev Cary P. Herring in 
charge of the services. Internment was made in the Prevatte Cemetery in the 
presence of a great number of friends and relatives. She will be missed by all 
that knew here.

Mrs. Prevatte is survived by the following: one son Howard; 2 sisters, Mrs. 
Floyd Herring and Mrs. Johnson of Fairmont; 3 brothers, J.H. Collins of 
Lumberton, R3, J.C. Collins of Lumberton, and A. Collins of Atlanta, GA; 1 
half brother and 4 half sisters. 

Pallbearers were: Active--Frank, Wilbur, and Bobby Johnson, Kirby Elliot
(nephews) and John Rhodes; Honorary--Luther and Wyvice Byrd, D.O and Lewis 
Floyd, B.W. and Cecil Rhodes.

Flowers were in charge of Josephine Herring, Mrs. Carlton Floyd, Mrs. Alvine 
Barnes, and Pauline Walters.  


Additional Comments:
Emily Collins was the wife of John Thomas Prevatte,  Her siblings were William 
Archibald Collins, John Henry Collins, James Clarence Collins, Fannie Collins 
(Johnson) and Mary elizabeth Collins (Herring).
