Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Mrs. Mortie Prevatte, 1964

Mrs. Mortie Prevatte
 
   Fairmont -- Mrs. Mortie Walters Prevatte, 72, wife of Danny Eugene 
Prevatte, of 608 North Madison Street, Whiteville, died Monday afternoon 
at Whispering Pines Convalescent Nursing Home, Fayetteville.  A native of 
Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late William and Nellie 
Rhodes Walters.
   A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at 
Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. R.C. Foster officiating, assisted 
by Dr. Francis Chesson.  The body will remain in the Fairmont Funeral Home 
tonight and will be carried to the home in Whiteville Wednesday morning.  
The family requests that no flowers be sent.
   Surviving besides her husband, are one sister, Mrs. Florida Noblin of 
Clarkton; three brothers, Hartford and Gordon Walters, both of Bladenboro, 
and Grover Walters of Whiteville.
 
 
From the Contributor: Mortie Cornelia Walters was born in Robeson County, 
on Nov 6, 1889 and died in Fayetteville on Apr 6, 1964. She was the daughter 
of William Walters and Nellie Rhodes.
Mortie was married to Danny Eugene Prevatte who was born Apr 3, 1891 and 
`died Apr 20, 1966.
