F. C. Smith Passes At Fairmont Home

   Fairmont, March 3----Francis Cornelius (Neil) Smith, 65, well known farmer, 
died at his home here Sunday at 12:30 p.m. after having suffered with a heart 
ailment for several years. During the past 6 months he had been hospitalized 
several times.
   He was a native of South Carolina, son of the late Fred and Martha Hayes 
Smith. Some 30 years ago he moved to Fairmont and married Miss Addie Lewis of 
this section.
   Surviving are his wife: one son, Chandos Smith, student at N.C. State 
College: two daughters, Mrs. Louis Williams of Virginia and Mrs. Katherine 
Smith Bassett of Fairmont: 3 grandchildren: and several brothers and sisters.
   The funeral was to be held here at 2:30 this afternoon.

Francis Cornelius Smith was born Dec 15, 1882 and died Mar 2, 1947.
He was the son of Fred Smith and Martha Hayes.
He was married to Addie Lewis born Dec 13, 1888 and died Jan 5, 1966.
She was the daughter of Datus Frank Lewis and Margaret Catherine Nance.
