JOHN P. STANTON

MAXTON – Funeral services for John Pope Stanton, 55, who died June 18 in Macon,
Ga., were conducted at 10:20 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Chapel by the Rev.
Wayland Cook. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
  
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sallie Wright and Mrs. Mary Helen Lewis, both
of Laurinburg; one son, John W. Stanton of Washington; his father, Temple
Stanton of Maxton; one brother, H.T. Stanton of Goldsboro; one sister, Mrs. Ted
Jones of Anderson, S.C.
