Sealey, 1874 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obit of Nicholas T Sealey State of North Carolina Robeson County Be it remembered that on this the 2nd day of May 1874, I, William B. Jenkins Special Coroner of the County of Robeson attended by a jury of Good and Lawful men to wit - John Jenkins, E. K. Floyd, B. A. Howell, Duncan McLellan, Everett Hardin, Wm Bass, James Barfield, Mike Williams, Sammie Wordley by me summoned for that purpose according to Law after being by me duly Sworn and impannelled in Robeson County did hold an Inquest over the dead body of N. T. Sealey and after examining into the facts and circumstances of the death of the deceased from a View of the Corpse and all the testimony to be procured, the said Jury find that the deceased came to his death from Drowning. Sealy the applicant first being Duly sworn deposes and says 1. N. T. Sealey is dead without leaving any last will and Testament 2. I, Moore T. Sealy, being the oldest brother of the deceased, who died unmarried, and entitled to the Administration. 3. The estate of the deceased consists of one horse, 8 hogs, cobble & carpenter tools and growing crop worth in all about four hundred dollars and also 120 acres of land worth about $3 per acre. The heirs of the deceased are - his brother Moore T. Sealy, the applicant, S. A. Sealy of South Carolina and his sisters, Eliza Powell, N. C. (Nancy Caroline - EJ) Walters - Flora E, (Elizabeth "Bettie" - EJ) Walters, M. A. (Matilda Angeline - EJ) Rhodes, Helen Wilkinson Living in the State of Mississippi, and Narcessa Sealey - M. T. Dick Judge of Probate From the Contributor: Nicholas T Sealey was born about 1831 in Robeson County and died of drowning May 2, 1874 in Robeson County. He was the son of Sampson Sealey born July 17, 1796 died Dec 12, 1860 and Nancy Moore born Aug 23, 1802 died Aug 3, 1848. Nicholas was not married at the time of his death.
