Taylor St. Pauls, Aug. 22 James R. Taylor, 90 one of the oldest men of this section died at his hme in the Howellsville community last night at 10 O'Clock; at home. His Funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a. m. standard time at the Tolarsville church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Officiating at the services will be Rev; I. P. Hedgepet of Lumberton. ROBESONIAN 23 AUG 1941. Final Rites forJames Taylor Funeral services were conducted Saturda a. m. for Mr. James Taylor age 90 at Tolarsville Baptist Church of which he was the oldest member, with interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Taylor is suvived by his widow, several children and geat grandchildren. Mr. Taylor was a loved and respected citizen of this section and will be greatly missed. Additional Comments: Note: Terry Johnson 19 Oct 2008 Born: 22 Mar 1951 in the Burnt Islands or Robeson County the son of John "Jack" Taylor son of Lemuel Taylor and Elizabeth Phillips, and Mary "Polly" Ann Pittman daughter of Nancy Britt and Sampson Pittman son of Sion Pittman & Elizabeth "Betsy" Glare daughter of Stephen & Mary Glare. Husband of Sidney Phillips who he married on 26 Nov 1873. Children of Jams R. Taylor & Sidney Phillips are: Luther, Anderson, Eliza Jane, James Morrison, Vina Lucy, Alex Bunyan and Sandy Jerome Taylor.
