Tuesday, July 2, 1937 MRS. EDWARD T. TAYLOR The funeral of Mrs. Cornelia Powers Taylor, wife of Edward T. Taylor, who died at Robeson County Memorial hospital, Sunday, June 23, were held Tuesday. June 25, at three o'clock from the Stephens Funeral Chapel. Rites were conducted by her pastor, Dr. D. Swan Haworth, assisted by Rev. S. N. Dorton. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. S. C. Martin, St. Pauls, route 1; three sons, W. J. Taylor, Norfolk, Va., Carl and C.R. Taylor of Lumberton; two sisters, Mrs. R. R. Craig, Saranac, N. Y., and Mrs. Worth Hatcher, Richmond, Va.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grand-children. Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Willie J. Powers and Flora Graham Powers. She was born in the Barker-Ten Mile Community June 22, 1884. She had been a member of the First Baptist church, Lumberton for about 30 years and was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday school class. Pallbearers were R.U. Allen, Lloyd Freeman, Charlie Malone, Norman Martin, Russell Taylor, and R. C. Adcox. Mrs. D. C. Roberts and Mrs. Jessie H. Britt were in charge of flowers, assisted by Mmes. R.U. Allen, Alex Kinlaw, Llovd Freeman, Charlie Malone, Shelton Malone, Edwin Taylor, 0liver Prevatte, Laurence Patterson, and Miss Emma Seals. A solo was sung by Mrs. Robert Burns, with Miss Martha Steppe at the piano.
