Final Rites For Mrs. Joel Britt

Mrs. Jeanette Britt, 83, wife of the late Joel Britt died at her home in West
Lumberton, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.
m. from Long Branch Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member for more
than 50 years, with Rev. I.P. Hedgepeth, pastor and Eletice Britt, in charge
Mrs. G. W. Baldwin of Long Branch was in charge or music.  
Internment was made in the family cemetery beneath a mound of lovely flora designs.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. June Pittman of Rt. 3, Mrs. C. J. Furr of
East Lumberton, Mrs. Luncinda Britt of West Lumberton; three sons, Larry Britt
of Rt. 3, and Rence and Bob Britt of West Lumberton; 29 grandchildren and 25
great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were W.C. Britt, K. A. Nunnery, Henry Lamb, J.C. Williams, and
Justin Parker.
Flowerbearers were grandaughters Misses Eila Cox, Lelia, Rose Lee, Rachel and
Oneal Britt, Ellis Pittman, Essie Suggs, Helen Hayes and Elizabeth Ivey.

Born: Mary Jeanette Taylor daughter of Mary "Polly" Ann Pittman & John "Jack"
Pickney Taylor, Son of Lemuel Taylor, son of Henry Taylor and Jennett Cook, And,
Elizabeth Phillips, daughter of Jordan Phillips and Hester Lee.

Brothers: Zachariah, James R., Frank Pickney, Samuel and David Alexander Taylor.
Sisters: Amanda, Polly, Lydia Lucenda, and Malinda Taylor (Britt). 

Sons: Lawrence, Rence and Robert Britt.

Daughters: Sarah Jane, Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Britt wife of Julius June Ashley
Pittman, Lucenda and Polly Ann Britt.
