Coroner’s Inquest
North Carolina }
Robeson County }
It having been reported to me that one
Jane Thompson of Thompson Township in
said County died on the 5th day of
August 1881, and it appearing from the
evidence hereunto annexed that she came
to her death by foul means, Now Therefore
as there is no regular Coroner in said
County, I do hereby appoint Louis
McPhipking a special coroner to hold
an inquest over the body of the said
Jane Thompson and make did return
the findings therein top this office –
In testimony where of I
have hereunto set my hand
and affix the seal of said
Court at office in Lumberton
this August 7th A.D. 1881.
