Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Jane Hardin Tyner, 1929 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funeral This P.M. of Mrs. Haywood Tyner End Came Saturday Night After Long Period of Illness Faithful Church Worker Mrs. Haywood Tyner, aged 71, died Saturday night about 12 o’clock at her home on Lumberton R. 5 from an illness of a stroke of paralysis, she had been in bad health for about a year. Funeral services were conducted from East Lumberton Baptist church this afternoon at 3 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. C. H. Durham and Rev. J. M. Fleming. Surviving are her husband; four daughters----Mrs. F. J. Pait and Mrs. Clyde Wade of Lumberton and Mrs. C. F. Flowers of East Lumberton and Mrs. L. H. Carter of Kenansville, Fla.; one son----Mr. Sam Tyner, who lived with her; one brother---Mr. Evander Hardin of Lumberton, R.7. Sixteen grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Tyner was a member of East Lumberton Baptist church, took an interest in the Missionary society and was especially active in the Ladies Aid Society. She was faithful to attend the services of the church when her health would permit. She will be sorely missed. From the contributor: Jane Hardin was born about 1861 and died Jun 8, 1929. She married Haywood Tyner on Nov 2, 1887. Her mother was Charlotte Lottie Hardin and her father is not known at this time.
