He was 98 years old. His ninety nine birthday would have been the 18th of next March. Additional Comments: Allen Walters was born March 18, 1807 in Robeson County, NC and died November 5, 1905 at age 98. He married 1st Nancy Haynes Griffen Feb 7, 1829 and 2nd Martha Haynes Jan 7, 1886. Allen was the son of Dawson Walters and Nancy Johnson. He was a Justice of the Peace in Robeson County. Allen was a Captian in the 58th Regiment, 14th Brigade, North Carolina Confederate Militia on Feb 28, 1862. He is listed in a book, NC Confederate Militia Officers, in the Adjutant Generals Office in the Archives in Raleigh, NC. On July 14, 1871 when authorities of Robeson County were forming a militia to subdue the Henry Berry Lowery indian uprising, Allen Walters followed the recruiting officers and told the men not to join up.
