Walters Left Note Asking That No Blame Be Attached. James M. Walters, 53, committed suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun at a filling station operated by Lawrence Edwards, near Barnesville, early Monday morning, his body being found at 3 a.m. Walters had returned home Thursday from State hospital in Raleigh, where he had been undergoing treatment. Sunday about midnight, he sliped away from home and went to the filling station. Placing the gun in the corner of the log station, he used a forked stick to pull the trigger. Notes were left addressed to Coroner D. W. Biggs and to Sheriff Mark Page asking that they attach no blame to anyone for his deed. The load was fired in his chest just above his heart and apparently resulted in instant death. Additional Comments: James Mac Walters was born June 10, 1883 and died August 3, 1936.
