Death of Mrs. Rosa Ann West.

   On the morning of January 8 the timeworn tenement of Mrs. Rosa Ann West 
fell helpless in death, while the real inhabitant renewed its strength in the 
presence of Him before whom the soul knows no ills.

   Mrs. West was in the 88th year of her age, having been born March 22, 
1825.  Since her death her husband several years ago she made her home with 
her children, and at the time of her death she was at the home of her son Mr. 
J. C. West.

   Knowing her as the writer did it is a sweet pleasure to mention her 
Christian character and distinguished graces.  She became a member of the 
church in early life and was to the end a faithful and consistent one.  Humble 
and meek, she possessed the elements of pure Christianity.

   The funeral services were conducted at the home of Mr. John C. West at 10 
a. m. Thursday by the writer, the pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist church, of 
which deceased was amember, assisted by Revs. W. R. Davis and J. J. Adams, 
pastors at East Lumberton and Antioch, respectively, and interment was made 
near the home in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives.
