Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Mrs. Anzie Walters, 1931 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. ANZIE WALTERS _____________ Fairmont, Apr. 13 - Mrs. Anzie Walters, wife of the late Fleet Walters, died Monday, March 30th. She was 86 years of age. She had been in declining health for nearly a year but was confined to her bed only a few days with flu and pneumonia. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the home. In the absence of her pastor, Rev. E. A. Paul of Center Church; Rev. I. P. Hedgpeth of Lumberton, assisted by Rev. P. T. Britt and Dr. T. H. Plemmons of Fairmont, officiated. Interment was in the New Cemetery. Deceased is survived by one son, Mr. Von Walters of Barnesville; 2 daughters, Mrs. Z. V. Britt of McDonald, Mrs. M. T. Walters of Fairmont; one sister, Mrs. Pollie Walters of Chadburn. Her children were all at home when the time came. Her husband preceded her to the grave about 50 years ago. She was affectionately known as "grandmother" in the communities in which she has lived and visited, and will be greatly missed. She has a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
