Robeson County, NC - Obituary of W.C. Walters, 1952 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ W.C. Walters Taken by Death - William Crayton Walters, 64 died at 9:45 Saturday Morning at his home in Barnesville following a short illness. He had been in the general merchandise business at Barnesville for many years. He was a former superintendent of the Barnesville Baptist Sunday school and a longtime member of the board of deacons of the Barnesville Baptist Church. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 5:30 at the home with Rev. Rufus Potts, pastor of Barnesville Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by former pastors, Rev. E.P. Lockamy and Rev. Mr. Barnett. Burial was in the Barnesville Church Cemetery. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Regan Walters; three sons, William C. Jr., Regan, and Neil, all of the home; two sisters, Mrs. T.J. Noblin of Barnesville and Mrs. Dan Prevatte of Whiteville. Three brothers, Gordon, Grover, and Hartford, all of Whiteville. William Crayton was the son of William Walters born Mar 19, 1842 died Apr 8, 1919 and Nellie Rhodes born May 22, 1850 and died Feb 1, 1920.
