Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Elizabeth Brown Wilkinson, 1924 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Elizabeth Brown Wilkinson daughter of Daniel Wilkison of Scotland November 26, 1924 AROUND FLORAL COLLEGE Again it is our sad duty to report a death. Last week it was that of a little child. This week it is that of a lady of mature years which shows us that death is no respector of persons, is sure and liable to come as a thief in the night and how important it is for all of us to "Be ye also ready for ye know not the day nor the hour in which he comes." And we believe the life she lived showed that Miss Lizzie was ready when the summons came on Saturday night last at 9:15 o'clock. At the house of her brother, Mr. Dougal A. Wilkinson, of Maxton, Route 5, in the seventy-third year of her age. About a year ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis and since that time her health had been bad but her death came as a shock to her many friends and relatives. She was a member of a large and prominent family, a daughter of Daniel Alexander and Effie Wilkinson, who together with four sisters preceeded her. The interment was made in the family cemetery at what used to be Harmony school (now consolidated with Floral College) on Sunday morning at eleven o'clock. The services were conducted in a most impressive manner by her pastor. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
