oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

The sheriff returned the Venire Facias from which the court selected 
the following gentlemen to attend as Grand Jurors during the Term / to 
wit / Hugh Brown foreman William Moore Zedekiah Pope Hector 
McNeill Slaughter Hill Philip Blount James Russel Kedar Hawthorn 
Jesse Phillips Albritain Drake Ithamer Gaddy Noah Pitman & Aaron 
Strickland and John Blount Const sworn to attend them

Ordered that Simon Willis be overseer of the road in room of James 
Copeland

Jesse Butler exempt from working on publick roads for reason shown

William Townsend fined seventy shilling for not serving on the Jury as 
a talisman? after being summoned

Ordered that Duncan McMillan be overseer of the road in room of 
Nevan McMillan

Deed from John Smith to Joab Willis proved by Josiah Barnes

Deed from John Brumble to Luke Carter & Melicar? Carter proved by 
Jacob Rhodes
