[Deeds were always either "acknowledged in open court" or "proved by 
oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

The last will and testament of Richard Thomas proved by oath of 
James Wilson and admited to record when John Regan qualified as 
Exr and returned an inventory of the deceaseds estate

Court adjourned untill tomorrow ten o'clock

Tuesday July 3rd 1798

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Joseph Wood Daniel Molloy and Joseph Regan 
Esquires

Ordered that Thomas Barnes Esquire and Hugh Brown superinte[n[d 
the ensuing election as inspectors and John Storm and James McNeill 
Esquire for the eclection as a member of Congress

Ordered that William Adkinson be overseer of the road in room of 
Joseph Lee and Samuel Adkinson work under him in stead of Joseph 
Lees hand

The nuncupative will of John Parnell proved by oath of Jacob Blount & 
admited to record when administration on said will was granted to 
Margarett? and John Parnell who entered into bond with John Storm 
their securities and returned an inventory of the deceaseds estate

Ordered that Simon Flowers Alexander & Alford Rowland be patroles 
in Captain Lees district

William Townsend who was fined twenty shillings last term which fine 
is not remited

The court proceeded to the election of a sheriff when Robert Haillls 
Esquire was elected to that office when he took the necessary oaths 
for his qualification as such and entered into the several bonds as 
proscribed by law with John Willis & Thomas Barnes Esquires his 
securities when the following Justices were present / to wit / Elias 
Barnes Thomas Baarnes George Moore John Regan Joseph Regan 
John Rowland Nicholas Powell James McQueen James McNeill Daniel 
Molloy Joseph Wood Neill Brown Samson Bridgers William Hawthorn 
John Flowers Alexr Patterson Joseph Lee James Cade Sion Alford 
Hugh McKay William Ashley & James Fort

Ordered that Roger McNair be patroles in Captain Alfords district

Ordered that Stephen Sterling work the hands that work on the road 
under him to Iveys Bluff to work on the Creek from the m[e]adow? 
landing to her bluff

Ordered that Jesse Lee be overseer of the road from the widow Lees 
branch to the ten mile swamp and the creek from her bluff to 
Hawthorns old field to the lower part of Iveys Bluff

Ordered that John Regan Thomas Barnes and Daniel Molloy settle the 
account or any other matters relative to the estate of Robert Corneill 
deceased with William Clark Admr and report the same to the next 
court

Bill of sale from Thomas White to Neill McAlpin for a negro man 
named bo? proved by oath of James Stephens

Bill of sale from Neill McAlpin Junr to Neill McAlpin Senr for a negro girl 
named Mary proved by oath of James Stephens
