oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

Ordered that there issue a dedimus to Daniel Shipman in Bladen 
county to take the deposition of Mary Clark on behalf of James Terry 
vs Willis Barfield giving the defendant thirty days notice

Ordered that William Tarlton be overseer of the road in room of 
Charles Powell

On application Patrick Kelley is admited to build a grist mill across 
Silver Run on his own land

Samuel Biggs and John Blount constables allowed twenty four shillings 
each for three days attendance this term

Joshua Pharoah Esquire appointed Treasurer of the publick buildings 
who entered into bond with Sion Alford his security

Ordered that two of Genl Willis[']s hands two of Mr Storms John Ivey 
Charles Ivey Thomas Ivey & John Powell work on the Elizabeth road 
as far as the two mile post and that John McNeill be overseer

Ordered that Michael Herring & William Sterling be patroles in Captain 
Legatts district

Ordered that William Ward & William Britt be patroles in Captain 
Newberrys district

Ordered that the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to attend as 
jurors at the next court for the county / to wit / Philip Blount William 
Humphrey Edmond Baxley William Baxley William Thompson / road / 
Albritain Drake Samuel Rowland Matthew Jones John Barnes Andrew

Ordered that Daniel Johnston Angus Curry Archibald McNeill Hector 
McNeill & Danl McPhersons hands be exempt from working on publick 
roads provided they build a bridge at or near where McArthurs bridge 
formerly stood by next court

James Cade Esquire appointed guardian to Robert Cade who entered 
into bond in the sum of one thousand pounds with Sion Alford his 
security

Deed from John Cade to Daniel McInnis proved by James Cade 
Esquire

Deed from Richard Regan to Samuel Regan proved by Joshua 
Hawthorn

Deed from Jacob Rhodes to Duncan McMillan acknowledged

James Cade one of the Excrs of the last will and testament of John 
Cade deceased came into court and qualified as such

George Moore Esquire returned an execution against Peter 
McEacharn & John Gillies for twenty five shillings and costs at the suit 
of Benjamin Blount levied by John Blount constable on a house and lot 
in the town of Lumberton where Thomas Ker now lives ordered that the 
sheriff sell the same

Ordered that Elias Barnes James McQueen & Sion Alford Esquires 
divide the estate of John Cade deceased agreeable to his will
