these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved

Tuesday July the 2nd 1799

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful James McNeill Joshua Pharoah George Moore 
& Joseph Regan Esquires

The court proceeded to the election of a sheriff when Robert Haills 
Esquire was elected to that office when he took the necessary oaths 
for his qualification as such when the following justices were present at 
his election / to wit / John Rowland Nicholas Powell Elias Barnes 
Sampson Bridgers Sion Alford James Cade Daniel Molloy John Fort 
John Regan George Moore William Hawthorn Neill Brown Duncan 
Brown James McNeill John Flowers Daniel McPhaul Joshua Pharoah 
Joseph Regan Hugh McKay & Joseph Lee

Duncan Kelley exempt from paying a poll tax for the year 1798

Barnabas Powell exempt from paying a poll tax & working on publick 
road

Ordered that Hector McNeill be overseer of the road in room and 
district of Duncan McMillan

Ordered that Joseph Nobles be overseer of the road & creek in room 
of Stephen Sterling

Peter Smith came into court and resigned as entry taker when Ralph 
Regan was elected to that office when the following justices were 
present / to wit / George Moore

Ordered that the following justices receive the lists of taxable property

David Torry Currys Do Neill Brown Watsons Do John Fort Blacks Do 
Joshua Pharoah Lumberton Do William Hawthorn Newberrys Do 
Joseph Regan Regans Do James McNeill Buies Do Thomas Barnes 
Pates Do Daniel Molloy that part of Buies district that was formerly 
Currys

James McNeill John Regan & Daniel Molloy who was appointed to 
examine and settle between the administrators of Archibald 
McCormaig & the estate of said deceased when they report that they 
find a balance due to the admr of twelve pounds two shillings and three 
pence

Ordered that John Little be overseer of the road in room Charles 
Corneill
