these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved

John Peter Martin appointed inspector of pork in the town of 
Lumberton who entered into bond with John Willis & Robert Haills 
Esquires his securities when they acknowledged the execution of said 
bond

Ordered that Thomas Purvat be overseer of the road in room of Abram 
Barfield

Ordered that Samuel Willis be overseer of the road in room of Joseph 
Wood Esqr

Ordered that there be a fair established in the town of Lumberton & 
that Robert Haills John Noyes William Moore John Dow Alfred 
Rowland Jacob Rhodes & Thomas Barnes be managers

Court adjourned untill court in course

At a county court of please and quarter sessions begun and held for 
the county of Robeson on Monday the sixth day of April and twenty fifth 
year of American Independence AD 1801

Present the worshipful Elias Barnes Samuel Biggs & Randol Curry 
Esquires

The sheriff returned the venire facias from which the court selected the 
following gentlemen to attend as grand jurors during this term / to wit / 
John Powell foreman Job Baxley Moses Hill Thomas Hestors Benjamin 
Blount John Williams John Willis John Pope John Humprhrey Jacob 
Barnes John Barnes James Smith and Elisha Harrel

Ordered that James McNeill be overseer of the road in room of Robert 
Fairley

Ordered that Peter McArthur be overseer of the road in room Neill Buie

Administrator is granted to William Campbell and Margarett Brasswell 
on the estate of Nathan Braswell with the nuncupitive will annexed who 
qualified as such and returned an inventory of said estate

Ordered that Peter Dallas be exempt from paying a poll tax for the year 
1800 and hereafter

Ordered that David Braswell be overseer of the road in room of Nathan 
Pitman

James McQueen who was appointed as a Justice of the peace by a 
dedimus potestatum and Commission of the peace came into court 
and took the necessary oaths for his qualification as such and took his 
seat accordingly

Ordered that the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to attend as 
jurors at the next Superior court to be held for the district of Fayetteville 
/ to wit / James McQueen Sion Alfred David Torry Zepheniah Leonard 
& Joseph Regan
