Joel Dawson appointed constable in Captain Lees district who entered 
into bond with John Cox his security

Ordered that the Laws of Congress be disposed of in the following 
manner - one set to be left in the Clerks office one Do to be left in 
Lumberton in the care of Robert Haills Esqr one do at Randol Curries 
Esqr one Do at Major Regan one Do at John Flowers Esqr one do at 
Col Baines one Do at James McQueens Esqr

Ordered that John Lewis & Joshua Grantham overseers with their 
hands keep up the road from the flat swamp to fair bluff

Joab Willis appointed deputy clerk of this court took the necessary 
oaths for his qualification as such as the law require

Court adjourned untill tomorrow nine oclock

Wednesday July the 8th 1801

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Elias Barnes Noah Pitman & John Rowland 
Esquires

Ordered that Sampson Bridgers & James McNeill Esqrs be inspectors 
at the ensuing election

John Regan constable allowed twenty four shillings for three days 
attendance this term

Ordered that the sheriff summon a jury to lay of the dower of Christian 
Strickland out of her deceased husbands estate

Ordered that Alexander Watson be overseer of the road in room of 
John McNair

Deed from Robert Haills to John McEacharn proved by Archibald 
McNeill

Deed from Samuel Dubois attorney in fact for Samuel Meeker to 
Thomas Davis proved by William Regan

Reubin Ivey Jacob Ivey and Randoll Bradley being presented by the 
grand jury as children being in the care of those who neglect there 
morrely ordered therefore that Wm Moore constable bring them to next 
court as the court may do in that case as the Law directs

Court adjourned untill tomorrow nine oclock

Thursday July the 9th 1801

Court meet according to adjournment

Present the worshipfull George Moore Robert Haill and Agerton Willis 
Esquires

John Blount constable allowed thirty two shillings for four days 
attendance this term

Ordered that William McNeill Esqr Archibald Sellers Alexr Watson 
Elias Barnes Esqr Wm Thompson William Townsend Silas Drake 
William Odom & Nicholas Mc
