Ordered that the following hands work on said road / to wit / Isham Pitmans hands Abraham Barfield Daniel Lowe William Maurice John Low Peter Purvat Arthur Lamb Abraham Lamb James Moore Henry Bullock Johnston Bullock Charles Bullock Junr Joel Bullock John Stroud and that Phillip Spier be overseer of said road The noncupititive will of Othniel Traywick proved by Sion Alford & Mary Curry and admited to record Duncan Campbell Archd Buie & Alexr Patterson Esqr who was appointed to settle with David Legatt guardian to the heirs of Robert Councill reported that there was £74.15.8 due the guardian Court adjourned untill tomorrow nine oclock Wednesday April the 8th 1801 Court meet according to adjournment Present the worshipfull Joseph Wood Noah Pitman & Duncan Campbell Esquires A Dedimus to issue to some Justice in Cumberland County to take the deposition of James Washburn on behalf of David Leggett in a suit brought by John Leggett against him giving five days notice Sion Alford Esqr James Cade Esqr and James Alford sworn as guarnishes in a suit John Chislom against Norman McLeod declared they were oweing the defendant nothing nor had any of his property in there possession Deed from Peter Hedgepeth to Josiah Barnes proved by William Barnes Page 149 [image 77b] Ordered that all the hands between the white oak swamp and old swamp path as high as the wild cat? branch and Thomas Taylor Simon Willis and William Shuffel be exempt from working on publick roads for the purpose of making a road through the great swamp near the mouth of the white oak swamp and that they work under the same rules and regulations as persons on publick roads under the directions of Simon Willis Court adjourned untill to morrow nine oclock Thursday April 9th 1801 Court met according to adjournment Present the worshipful Elias Barnes Noah Pitman & Robert Haills Esquires John Blunt and John Biggs constables allowed thirty two shillings for four days attendance each this term Ordered that the clerk be authorised to purchase Iredells revisals up to one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine, and call on the county trustee for money to purchase the same, for which the trustee shall be allowed in his settlement with the court John Roe appointed constable in Captain Newberys district who entered into bond with Joseph Wood his security Administration on the estate of Fedrick Bass is granted to Elijah Bass who entered into bond in the sum of two hundred pounds with Charles Ivey his security and quallified as such Catharine Gilbert bound apprentice to John Noyes untill she arrive to the age of eighteen years now being three Colin Edwards exempt from paying the tax of one black pole and six hundred & twenty five acres of land which was made appear to the court to be more property then said Edwards was subject to pay tax for File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/robeson/photos/documents/minutes2573gph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 4.1 Kb
