oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

Porter came before him and made oath to the best of his knowledge 
that he saw Harris Spier sign seal & deliver a deed for three hundred 
acres of land to Absalom Johnston & that he saw James Corneill sign 
as a concurring witness which deed was enclosed with the deposition 
which was admited to record & ordered to be registered

Administration on the estate of John McKay is granted to Jacob McKay 
John McColl & Neill McGill who qualifed as such & entered into bond in 
the sum of four thousand pounds for their faithful administration with 
Dugald McKay & John McNeill their securities

Administration on the estate of Alexander Henderson is granted to 
Nancy Henderson who qualified as such and entered into bond in the 
sum of four hundred pounds for her faithfull administration with Patrick 
McEacharn and John McEacharn her securities

Thomas Blunt bound apprentice to James McNatt untill he arrive to the 
age of twenty one years now being one year and seven months old

James Biggs bound apprentice to Samuel Hammons untill he arrive to 
the age of twenty one years now being nine years old

Horasha Revill bound apprentice to Elijah Revill untill he arrive to the 
age of twenty one years now being twelve years and seven months old

The sheriff who was command to summon a jury to lay of the dower of 
Christian Strickland widow of Aaron Strickland deceased reported that 
he summoned a jury for that purpose and made return of the 
proceedings of the jury which was ordered to be filed

Court adjourned untill tomorrow nine oclock

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Elias Barnes Samuel Biggs & Robert Haills 
Esquires

Ordered that George Thompson be overseer of the road in room of 
William Moore

Last will and testament of Archibald McLain proved by John Danielly & 
admited to record when Sion Alford & Dugald Grayham qualified as 
executors to said will

At last term Reuben & Jacob Ivey was presented by the grand jury as 
children who was under the care of them who neglected their morrels 
and at same term constable was ordered to bring them to this term 
which was done when the court was of oppininon that they should not 
be bound

Ordered that Joel Pitman be overseer of the road in room of Noah 
Pitman

Ordered that Turtle Rea be overseer of the road in room of Mitchel 
Biggs
