Deed from Jacob Pitman to Thomas Tay acknowledged

Last will and testament of James Rowland proved by John Rowland 
and admited to record when John Barnes & Elizabeth Rowland 
qualified as Excrs

Ezekial Bodiford bound apprentice to Malcom McQueen untill he arrive 
to the age of twenty one years now being twelve

Administrators of Aaron Strickland deceased returned an inventory of 
the deceased estate & ordered to be filed

Last will and testament of Stephen Lewis deceased proved by John 
Lewis & Morgan Elmore and admited to record

Ordered that there be a road through the great swamp beginning at or 
near the mouth of Goodmans Swamp & from thence the best and 
nearest way to the Elizabeth road leading to Lumberton and that the 
sheriff summon the following gentlemen to lay of the same / to wit / 
Simon Willis Benjamin Kinlaw James Kinlaw Robert Kinlaw Lewis 
Thomas Richard Thomas Francis Parker James Stephens John 
Regan Junr Marmaduke Powell Joseph Woods John Regan Senr & 
William Regan and that the hands in the following bounds work on said 
road when laid of / to wit / all the hands between the Elizabeth road 
and old swamp path as high as the wild Cat Branch

Ordered that Archibald McLain be overseeer of the road in room of 
Samuel Smith

The grand jury presented Saml Edward & John Powers orphan 
children of Samuel Powers deceased to be such as deserved the 
notice of this court ordered therefore that John Regan constable bring 
them to next court in order that the court may provide for them as the 
law in such cases directs

Ordered that the following hands work on drowning creek from the 
mouth of the raft swamp to Gebion Cumboes landing / to wit / two of 
William Thompson hands John Comboe Stephen Cumboe Gebion 
Cumboe Elijah Ancor & Cannon Cumboe and that Benjamin Blount be 
overseer of the same

Ordered that the following hands work on drowning creek from Gebion 
Cumboes landing to Bests Bluff / to wit / Elias Barnes's hands from his 
home plantation William Odoms hands Horatia Hammon Elijah 
Cumboe Sion Best James and Thomas Edwards Marmaduke 
Etheridge Henry Sizemore Edward & Henry Lovet Silas Adkins's hands 
Silas Drake and hands & James Jackson and William Odom be 
overseer of the same

Ordered that the following hands work on drowning creek from Bests 
Bluff to Lowrys Bridge / to wit / Nicholas McLachland Benjamin & John 
Grice Albert Chavers Ezekial Aguien Lewis Jenkins Colen McLachlan 
James and Matthew Kelley Peter Deal Moses & Aaron Oxendine 
Malcom Lockleir Thomas Lowry & James Lowrys hands and that 
Nicholas McLachlan be overseer of the same

Ordered that the following hands work on drowning creek from Lowrys 
Bridge to Sellers Bridge / to wit / Archibald Sellers hands Wm Rae 
Jesse & Charles Oxendine Levi Lockleir John Lockleir Wm McNeills 
hands Malcom Lockleir James Lockleir Etheldred Tuder Hugh Lockleir 
and that Matthew Watson be overseer of the same 

Hugh McKay Esqr returned an execution at the suit of Daniel McMillan 
against Malcom McDuffee for twenty pounds and costs with all the 
proceeding in said suit levied by J McMillan constable on seventy five 
acres of land including the plantation whereon the defendant resides 
near John Pattersons in the drains of Bear Branch ordered that the 
sheriff sell the same
