Alford

Deed from John Martin to John Fiveash proved by Warren Alford

Ordered that Mathew Powers be overseer of the road in room of 
James Stone

Ordered that all the hands between the Elizabeth road and Old Swamp 
path as high as the wild Catt branch work on the road that leads from 
the said Elizabeth road to the mouth of goodmans swamp under Simon 
Willis as overseer

Deed from Ebenezer Ellis to Absalum Williams acknowledged

Deed from Moses Grantham to Joseph Grantham acknowledged

Administrators of Alexander Henderson returned an inventory of said 
estate & was ordered to be filed

Last will & testament of Philip Blount proved in open court by the oath 
of Charles Pate and admited to record when the executors to said will 
qualified as such and returned an inventory of the deceaseds estate

Thomas Barnes sheriff returned a list of insolvents for the year 1800 on 
oath which was allowed & ordered to be filed

Administrators of the estate of Christopher Mercer deceased returned 
an inventory of his estate and ordered to be filed

Court adjourned untill tomorrow ten oclock

Wednesday January the 6th 1802

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Sampson Bridgers Duncan Campbell & 
Alexander Patterson Esquires

Ordered that Peter Smith be overseer of the road in room of Malcom 
McGugan

John P Martin who was appointed as a Justice of the peace by a 
Dedimus potestatum and commission of the peace, came into court 
and took the necessary oaths for his qualification as such & 
accordingly took his seat
